Informal Apologetics gathering in a comfortable setting
Different from a coffee night, a One-Off allows for a more in-depth approach without as many distractions as you might find in a coffee shop. Plus you'll never arrive and find there are no more seats available...
These one-time events require a Host to invite us over to chat with their people at their venue. By "their people" we mean your church members, youth group, high school or university group, even a single family. The venue is a place of your choice; a church, a school, a home, whatever.
Why not start your own Coffee
It really is quite easy. Pick a venue (a coffee shop with enough room for you and your friends), and put out the invitation. It's always a good idea to have a question or two ready that you've read up on, you can be sure people will bring topics of their own.
You don't need a lot of planning!
Start of with one other person and get a meeting or two under your belt. Once you're established slowly ask more people, then ask them to bring their friends. If you get too many people, spread out. Take more tables, or spill over into another coffee shop!
We can help you!
If you want to have a "trial event" with friends, Youth group or Church, we can join you for the first one and give you a few pointers. Coffee's on us!

Why Host a One-Off?
Maybe you're interested in apologetics and you'd like to your friends interested as well. It could be that there are already a few of you who like apologetics but want to know more. What if you already have a meeting of some kind and you feel it would be of value to see what apologetics has to offer?
Those are all good reasons!
What We Can Do
We will show up, with our usual friendly demeanor, ready to discuss or present a topic of your choice.
For a presentation-style meeting we could do something like "Is the New Testament Really Reliable" or "How Did the Bible Get Put Together", or "What is the Purpose of Suffering"? We can also just show up and field questions from those present on any subject they'd like to ask about, a sort of Q&A night.
What Do You, the Host, Have to Do?
Not as much as you'd think...
Step One- Contact the RFM team and ask them to come out
Step Two- Pick a day or night to do this on.
Step Three- Find a venue; your church basement, classroom, a lounge, a home....
Step Four- Invite a few of your friends or your people. You don't have to make this a big deal.
Step Five- Leave the rest to us. We'll even bring the coffee and desserts!
The Beauty of One-Offs
Easy to organize, very informal, but full of power to strengthen and encourage the Christian community and to challenge unbelief.
"The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."
[2 Corinthians 10:4-5]
